Corporate recovery and insolvency

Our corporate recovery and insolvency team, led by Lee Bramley, comprises three partners (Lee BramleyJulie Bruce and Jamie Brown) , one associate (Nik Tunley) and one assistant solicitor Vivienne Burbidge.

We can offer practical, specialist advice to a whole range of people including:

  • insolvency practitioners
  • businesses
  • individuals
  • lenders and other stakeholders

on a wide range of insolvency and restructuring issues.

Insolvency law and practice is complex and constantly evolving, but our clients know that we have a depth of knowledge and expertise to help address and successfully resolve any legal issues which may arise.

Our team can provide guidance on how to deal with cashflow problems, collecting money from debtors, negotiating with banks and the general restructuring of businesses.  In the event that insolvency cannot be avoided, we strive to guide businesses through the appropriate formal insolvency procedures and seek assistance from insolvency practitioners as the need arises, while also offering advice and support to directors and other individuals regarding potential personal liability.

We have expertise in both contentious and non-contentious areas of insolvency law and practice including:

  • administrations
  • bankruptcy
  • claims against directors
  • company voluntary arrangements (CVAs)
  • creditor’s rights on insolvency
  • defending Directors disqualification proceedings
  • directors’ duties and liability on insolvency
  • disputes leading to insolvency
  • employee’s rights on insolvency
  • individual voluntary arrangements (IVAs)
  • investigations by insolvency practitioners into antecedent transactions
