Endeavour Partnership 10th anniversary

Ten years ago four solicitors stood, debating, in a room overlooking the Tees. They were wondering what to call their new business. Whose surname would come first?  Might the name be Bury Pearson, an instruction, which, I am glad to say, has not yet been received or BBMP, the four partners’ initials? The discussion continued until one of them looked out of the window at the replica of an old ship moored on the river and The Endeavour Partnership was born. It was a practical decision that typified the approach still used by Endeavour when acting for their clients as well. We are, first of all, interested in our clients practical requirements, then we use our expertise to achieve as many of those as the law allows: and as swiftly as is efficient and wise.

Since those first days of our voyage we have grown quickly, with the addition of many excellent lawyers and support staff. We have moved to larger offices but still maintain the same personal touch in our dealings with our clients. We may be a bigger ship, but officers and crew still look after the passengers just as carefully. Even in the rough seas of recession we are trying to ride out the storm without allowing those aboard to become too alarmed.

Yes, well, perhaps that’s enough nautical similes.

We have bought and sold companies and properties. We have defended clients’ rights and pursued their remedies against those who have wronged them. Employers and employees have been advised as to their rights under employment law. New and old industries have been successfully guided through every aspect of the myriad laws and regulations which wait in ambush to threaten their wealth, health and sometimes their very existence.

It is a pity that our tenth anniversary comes at such a difficult time for the North East. Yet it is important to look beyond the present to a more prosperous future. Such things tend to go in cycles (no doubt soon to be the vehicle of choice once again!), so we have every expectation that The Endeavour Partnership LLP will still be helping its clients to the fulfilment of their desires - in the area of law - in another ten or twenty years time. Here on the 31st July 2009 we will all raise a glass in a toast to the clients whom we have advised and who have supported us through the last ten years and to those who will do so in the future. We want to thank them one and all.
